Dear Mum,

Next Wednesday, November 29th, our school is performing the play 'Freddy's First Day'. There will be two screenings of the show, one at 1.15pm (which will be watched by the junior school as well) and another at 5pm, for parents and family.
The play is about a boy called Freddy who is starting New Brighton Catholic School for the first time. Freddy gets to learn lots of important things on his first day. The show is funny and includes everyone in Years 4-8. My role in the play is to control the sound for the day. Even though I do not have a speaking part, my role is very important and without it the show can not be performed.
I would really like you to come because I have spent a lot of time and effort getting ready for this. I think you will really enjoy it and we can talk about it afterwards.

• Each pizza is cut into 8 slices.

How many pizzas does Mr. Adams need to order? Are there any slices left over? If so, how many?

Australia 🇦🇺

Last year I flew to Australia ✈️. I was there to travel Queensland for skate parks. When I arrived I went to a place called Sunshine Coast where my Nana lives. She is about an hour drive from an indoor skate park called ramp attak. I stayed there for about 2 hours and then travelled for 2️⃣6️⃣ hours  to a place called Burketown which is filled with skate parks. After 5 days I flew to Brisbane and drove with my uncle to the Gold Coast 🏖. When we were skating we spotted Garrett Ginner who is a famous American skater🇺🇸. That was one of the best trips ever!!!

In Room 1 for our inquiry this term we have been investigating what it means to be a smart digital citizen. We have been learning that what we say online has an effect on our relationships and that as Catholics we are called to make a positive difference to others when we are online. We have made a Digital Pledge for our class, which includes things like: Think and ask before you post, consider other people’s opinions and think: would you say it to their face? We have also learnt how to create a blog profile and how to make positive comments on other people’s blogs and will be learning how to post comments that can be constructive for people to improve their learning. All the children in our class have their own blog and have been blogging their thoughts about their work.

Refugee Roleplay

For our social inquiry this term we are learning about the lives of refugees and the struggles that they go through. On Tuesday the senior syndicate went for a walk around the ‘Red Zone’ to experience what it might be like as a refugee fleeing from their country. While we were walking a teacher from our group would yell things like “DROP, SINGLE FILE, DISPERSE and TAKE COVER!” So we could understand how frightening and scary it might be for refugees trying to escape a war zone.

When we arrived in the middle of nowhere, we had to do a range of things that might be experienced by a refugee such as: try to understand a different language (Mrs Rodricks gave commands in Hindi), get split up into hutt groups and given a handful of delicious rice while we spent time in a roleplayed refugee camp, find bottles while you’re blindfolded and build a shelter with pieces of tarp, bungy cords and rope for over 20 people ( Mr Adams said that red house built the best shelter which was cool).

Overall this was an astounding, breathtaking experience and we now understand more about the plight and experiences refugees go through.

 I felt sad because I knew that people had to go through things like this in their lives (Jessica). 

I felt sad because I know that people around the world have had to run and hide from so many people who are out to hurt or harm them (Hayley).

I think I know a guy, 

who definitely knows my Uncles, brothers, friends, brother who knows a brother that's a twin. And that twins brother is called frank, frank has beautiful, bewitching, bumblebee,hair. Marvilous,monster,monkey ears. Launchy,lanky,lushest

I know a guy, who knows a man, who has a friend that has a friend called jessie. He is Realated to this guy we were talking about. Frank is a grumpy, ungrateful, wanted man his name is frank. He had blister, bewitching,bumble bee hair which people are always talking about. His marvlous,monster,monkey ears are to die for. When u look at his briny,beaming,bubbly eyes it is like you are sinking fast to the bottom of the ocean. He had a susssive, stubby, strong chin,I don't have anything to say after a that.His legs were launchy,lanky and lushes which helps him jump far to get out of situations. His brother Jessie who was with him to grab the jewels. He wears a aquamarine vest and a white shirt underneath and denim jeans.

Franks chosen his life path in a particular way, for example he's a mischievous, devious, daredevil train robber. Frank has a blunt chin as edgeless as a pencil and chunky, chestnut eyebrows. He has a blotchy, messy stubble. His eyes are a deep ocean teal that you drown in. Now as I think of it he has a brother that robs as well typical, I guess it runs in the family.

FRANK

"Have you heard about it"?. Well if you haven't, I think you've been living under a rug for a very long time! Let's get started.

He has blister, bewitching, bumblebee hair, marvellous, monster, monkey, ears and lanchy, lanky, lashes, legs. Thats not all he has brinny, beammy, bubbly eyes and a successive, stubby, strong chin! He's tall, skinny and he has a long nose. Oh did I mentain that he is a train robber and he is a brother to a young man named Jesse? Frank tried to steel a ruby with his brother Jesse, but it didn't work.
