St. John Visit

Today in Room 1 we were lucky enough to have Paula from St. Johns come and teach us some first aid and CPR. We learned about the DRSABC(D) acronym, about when and how to help in an emergency, and two tunes we can sing to make sure we're giving CPR at the right speed!

Thanks to ASB for sponsoring Paula and the rest of the St. Johns organization so that we can learn these important skills.

  1. Kia Ora Room 1! This is the Senior Squad at Parkview School. We think it is really cool that you get to learn CPR from St Johns at your school. You took one of our students back to when she did St Johns training. Have you thought about adding some writing from the children about this experience? We enjoyed looking at your post. If you would like to visit ours, here is the link https://parkviewseniorsquad.blogspot.co.nz/. Kind regards, Senior Squad, Parkview School.

It’s really cool that you guys get to learn and practise medical and emergency procedures. What were the two tunes that you can sing to keep at the right speed?
Do you reckon you will use these skills in a real-life situation? What is the DRSABCD) acronym?
