Science Trip

Last Thursday Year 7 & 8 learners went to Catholic Cathedral College for a science lesson afternoon. We were all thrilled and ready to have an amazing time. At CCC we met the science teacher Mr Wardrop. The first science project that we saw was when the teacher broke a glass tube and put it in some vegetable oil and it all joined back together, this was because the reflection of sunlight was different in air compared to in oil. We also completed lots of amazing experiments that involved dry ice. We looked at static electricity and learned that charges can be both negative and positive. Finally at the end we used a vandergraph that made Jessica’s, Grace’s and Jasmine’s hair go crazy and stand up because of the positive charge. Overall we had an awesome time and learnt a lot. Thank you so much CCC for teaching and letting us view science at your school.

I really like all the pictures that you have put in. Have you thought about changing the formatting on post so that we can read all the information about what you did? I am also interested in science and would love to go on that trip I liked looking at all the photos that you've put on there and its interesting to know what you are doing.

you guys must have had fun at Catholic Cathedral College I really like that you guys did some cool experiments with dry ice and electric things. maybe explain how the teacher taught the subject and if you liked the way the teacher explained it. the formatting doesn't look that good maybe put it into paragraphs because it goes off the page and looks a bit messy. if you want to look at my blog just click my name.

  7. Kia ora room 1 from NBC,

When I was scrolling threw your blog I noticed your science trip which I thought looked really cool and fun. I also noticed your blurb is spread across the screen meaning you have to scroll to the right to read it which is quite confusing and hard to read. Maybe you could press enter after every one or two full stops? In the future you can check and see if this happens again by pressing the preview button to check if it goes across the screen.- Max from Parkview School. 😄😎

  10. Hi my name is Sophie from Parkview school.

I love this post because it looked like you were all having fun.
You taught me that your hair can go poof like that is looks so cool.
Next time, you could make sure that the text does not go off the side of the page because it is a bit annoying when you try to read it.

I really like reading you blog it is very good.

This shined because those look like some pretty cool science experiments, like the glass putting itself back together and how your hair jumped up like that! When I read your post I learnt some pretty cool experiments, like that one with the glass and I will definitely be trying that at home, because I never knew glass could do that. If you could just be a bit more careful about your pasting next time, because as you see, your blog post is going right of the page, but that's happened to me once too!
    Kind Regards -

  14. Hi Rosie, I'm Sophie from Awahono School. I really like how you have added the pictures because it makes it more interesting. I like how you have been very descriptive in you writing. Maybe next time you could try and do ctrl shift c because it is a little annoying since you have to scroll across. One quick question is what is the science behind all of it? Here is the link to my blog if you want to check it out: http://awahonosophieb.blogspot.co.nz/

  15. Hi my name is Ben from Awahono School.

I like how you said that you are grateful that CCC came out and helped you. This reminded me of when I was little and I did the positive charge. Next time, you could find out a way so that the words don’t go off the page. What are some science experiments that you recommend to me?

    Kind Regards Ben

  17. Hello, I'm Miro from Awahono School. I liked this post because you tell me everything that happened in the right order and in detail. You told me that charges are both negative and positive. Maybe you could change the font or size to make the words not slope off the page. Which one of the things you learned do you think was most interesting to you?
